Open since December 2018, two chairlifts (Moulins and Mont-Valaisan) give access to five ski slopes (red and black): this is the Mont-Valaisan area. The highest point of the La Rosière Ski Area at 2,800 metres, offers technical and challenging skiing. At the top of the Mont-Valaisan chairlift, enjoy breathtaking 360-degree views of Mont-Blanc, the Cervin and the Vanoise summits...
Up there, snow is guaranteed from December to the end of April. The most adventurous skiers can go there to experience the thrill of freeride skiing - without danger - on a black, ungroomed slope...
As a reminder, a DVA Check is available at the top of the Mont-Valaisan chairlift to check your safety equipment (DVA - Probe - Shovel) before heading off-piste on either the north or south-west face!
This new south-west facing black slope is located at the top of the detachable Les Moulins chairlift, at an altitude of 2400m, and offers 425m of vertical drop. Ungroomed but always marked and safe, this area is also the steepest in the resort, with a gradient of up to 74%!
From the top of the Mont-Valaisan chairlift you can take the red "2800" slope down to the top of "Combe" before rejoining the "Freeride Mont-Valaisan"
The combe, to the right of the Mont-Valaisan chairlift is once again an unsafe off-piste area.
REMINDER: off-piste skiing, while exhilarating, does present significant risks. For your safety, it's essential to be well equipped (avalanche transceiver, probe, shovel), and you can also get a professional to guide you.
