Espace San Bernardo: France's 1st ski area with certified piste mileage!

The Domaine Skiable de La Rosière Espace San Bernardo plays the transparency card and guarantees you certified piste mileage!

Since 2015, Domaines Skiables de France (DSF) has been recommending that ski resorts specify their calculation method for the piste mileage displayed in their communication tools.

According to the DSF circular, there are 2 calculation methods. But despite these recommendations, few resorts specify their method of calculating the piste mileage advertised in their communications...

LA ROSIÈRE has decided to face up to reality by having the direct-track length of all its marked runs in the Franco-Italian ESPACE SAN BERNARDO ski area checked by an independent international expert.

To this end, the ski area has entrusted a field audit to an independent certification body which has already certified some of the world's biggest ski areas, including Saalbach, Kitzbühel and Vail.

The results show that ESPACE SAN BERNARDO has156 km of downhill ski runs(excluding cross-country ski runs, toboggan areas and permanent ski touring trails)since the opening of Mont-Valaisan, placing it 13th among France's largest ski areas and 34th worldwide.

In contrast to many other ski areas, the previously announced mileage of 160km on the Espace San Bernardo ski area was therefore correct. With method A (direct track), the Espace San Bernardo already had just over 160km of trails (161km), including the French cross-country ski trails operated by DSR and the permanent ski touring trails.
