"Domaines Skiables de France" (DSF - French Ski Areas) is the national trade association that brings together and represents ski area operators in France. DSF plays a key role in coordinating and implementing sustainable development and environmental protection policies in French ski resorts. The association works closely with the public authorities, local communities and tourism stakeholders.
The development of French ski areas has made mountain tourism an economic keystone, attracting millions of visitors every year. However, climate change is now putting this sector at risk, with the glacial melt and major variations in snowfall.
The days of denial and empty rhetoric are over. Hundreds of thousands of jobs in our mountains and valleys depend on it. Our responsibility today is to act. In all directions. All together. The mountains deserve our efforts.
The union of French Ski Areas (DSF) roadmap contains 16 eco-commitments to preserve the mountainside, with concrete measures set out to address the climate and greenhouse gas emissions, water management, protecting biodiversity, preserving the landscape and waste.
One of the objectives set by the DSF is to achieve carbon neutrality by 2037, with zero CO2 emissions.
